Charles Pincheon 1774 -

Charles Pincheon was born in 1774 in Market Lavington, Wiltshire. He was baptised on 21 August 1774 at St Mary's Market Lavington. He was the second child and second son of Charles Pincheon and Comfort Clifford. Many family history research interchange this Charles with his cousin - son of John Pincheon and Ann Watts who married Betty Lanham in 1792, or treat them as the same person.

Charles married Betty Sutton on 5 May 1803 at St Mary's, Market Lavington. It has not been possible to determine Betty's parents. Charles was recorded as a bricklayer on his marriage documentation.

Given that both Charles and Betty's were procreating at the same time, it has been difficult to confirm real offspring numbers, especially in the period 1803 to 1810, however, it is believed that Charles and Betty had 8 children - 3 sons and 5 daughters - between 1804 and 1820, six of whom lived to adulthood:

  • Elizabeth Pincheon Born 1804
  • Eleanor Pincheon Born 1808. Married James Burgess 1826. Died 1871.
  • William Burgess Born 1808. Married Elizabeth Clelland 1831. - MAY BE CHILD OF COUSIN CHARLES
  • Jemima Pincheon Born 1810. Married William Mills 829. Died 1882
  • Jane Pincheon Born 1811. Married David Shore. Died
  • Charles Pincheon Born 1813. Died 1814 - Died as an Infant
  • Alice Pincheon Born 1815
  • Charles Pincheon Born 1820. Married Harriett Robey 1844. Died 1877

Based on the birth record of their children, Charles and Betty lived in Market Lavington.

It has not been possible to confirm Charles year of death.
