My Kitching Family |
The Kitchings are an old Yorkshire Family, whose name was originally spelt Kitchin. First evidence of the Kitching family is found in the north of England in the 13th century, (for more information check out the Kitching Name Meaning).
Current research identifies our line of the Kitching family as originating in Leeds in the West Riding of Yorkshire the early 1700s. The family has a long line of residence in Leeds and the surrounding areas before dispersing during the mid 1850s, with a number of members of the family crossed the Scotland/England border regularly.
The earliest known confirmed ancestor of our Kitching family is Robert Kitching. There is limited information about the family prior to his Grandson Joseph Charles Kitching who emigrated to Australia in the 1880s.
