Josiah Bashford 1760

Josiah Bashford (also known as Sigh / Si / Sythe) was born around 1759 in Sompting Sussex. There are no records available to confirm this. He was the son of Josiah Bashford and Sarah Boniface.

Little is known of the Josiah before his marriage to Sarah Moone on October 11 1784 in Steyning, Sussex (the marriage was also recorded in Sompting, Sussex). Based on information provided by another Bashford research both made their mark on the certificate (indicating that they couldnt sign their name). Sarah was the daughter of Phillip Moone and Mary Clouser. She was born in Mayfield, Sussex in 1765 and died in september 1848 in Steyning Sussex.

Josiah and Sarah had eight children (three sons and five daughters) between 1784 and 1806 :
