MR. JOHN DARROUGHI

The death occurred in Tweed District Hospital on Saturdayafter a longillness of Mr. John Joseph Darrough(59), of Tweed Heads. Born at Lis-more, he resided on the Tweed dis-

trict for the past 43 years, workingfor some years with the old Tweedbutter factory at Murwillumbah, laterfollowing the occupation of dairyfarming.He married at Murwillumbah aMiss Margaret Dynan, who survives.In alddition, he is survived by sevenchildren. Messrs. James (Burringbar)and William Darrough (A.I.F. abroad)are sons and Mesdames G. Dolan(Mooball), M. Benstead, and MissesEridget, Cecilia and Patricia Darrough (Tweed Heads) are daughters.He is also survived by his mother, whowas 80 years old yesterday, and fivegrandchildren.The funeral moved from the Churchof the Sacred Heart, Murwillumbah,yesterday ait 12.30 p.m. for theCatholic cemetery, Uki Road. Arch-priest FitzPa trick officiated at thechurch and at the graveside. Thefuneral coretge was large and therewere many floral tributes. Pall-bearerswere Messrs. James Darrough (son),A. Benstead, G. (Dolan (sons-in-law),P. Dynah and C. Ehlefelt (brothers-in-law). Messrs. E. Garner and J.Trevitt were wreath-bearers.Mr. Len Holston conducted thefuneral arrangements.
