My Elkington Family

Elkington  and its range of variation - such as Elkinton ; Elkerton or Eltenton. Eltinton - are believed to be a place names, derived from the anglicisation of  Ealac's dun which means a hill or fortress (dun) of Elta and is referred to as Eletone and Elletone in the Domesday Survey of 1087

Current research identifies the earliest known ancestor of our Eltinton line as being James Elkington of Leire Leicester. James grand-son Thomas Fullelove emigrates to Australia in 1863.

The Elkington ancestry goes back 11 generations and biographies exist for some members as indicated by links
