Walter Reginald Shoobridge (1897 - 1942)

Walter Reginald Shoobridge was born in Auburn Street, Goulburn on 27 Sep 1897 to Ellen Shoobridge of Burragorang and John Crofton Jessop of Goulburn. They were unmarried, so Walter took his mother's surname. Walter's father, John, died of a brain tumour when Walter was thirteen. On 10 Dec 1931, Walter married Dorothy Clarke, daughter of Mary Euncea Clarke. They were married at St Mark's Chruch of England, Granville. Walter and Dorothy had six children. Walter worked as a Motor Driver and as a conductor. He died on 30 May 1942 of double pneumonia at the family home in Harris Park and was buried in Rookwood Necropolis on 2 June 1942.
