Robert Jessup (~1720 - 1808)
It appears that the family were Non-Conformist, which can make finding records challenging. We have found records for most of these children - except William and Robert.
We have been unable to confirm the birth order, as several baptism records for this family have multiple baptisms, however there does appear to be a gap in baptisms between 1747 and 1858. Though there are some burials in this period
- Williams inclusion is based upon the naming patterns of his children which include Robert and Charles
- Roberts inclusion is based on naming patterns - which indicates that the the family should have a son name Robert - and there is a marriage for a Robert Jessup in Bramfield in 1771 to Elizabeth Riches. On the marriage record his fathers name is captured as Robert and his year of birth as 1754 (age at marriage is 17) which makes him a very likely candidate
- .
Additionally we have not confirmed that the James born 1769 is the one married to Elizabeth Hills and is living in Framlingham in 1841. However we also have Thomas living there as well, both of whom have children called Robert and Martha.
It also appears that the family dispersed through the area, with William staying in Huntingfield ; Samuel ending up in Ubbeston ; Charles living in Cratfield.
