James Higson (1791 - 1871)

James Higson was born in Middle Hulton in 1791. He was the sixth child and third son of Richard Higson and Ellen Seedon of Middle Hulton.

James married Mary Pendlebury (his second cousin) on 6 January 1814 at the Deane parish church - St Mary the Virgin in Rumworth, Deane, Lancashire. The marriage was conducted by R Latham (the vicar) and witnessed by Thomas Pendlebury and William Higons. Mary was the daughter of Henry Pendlebury and Mary Higson.

James died in December 1871 and was buried at St Mary the Virgin on 9 December 1871. The burial was presided over by William Bachall, the vicar of St Mary's
