The Bedingfield name traces its origins back to one of William the Conquerers knights who was granted lands in Norfolk, we have yet to establish a connection to this line. For more information see Bedingfield under my name research.

Current research identifies the earliest known ancestor of our Bedingfield line as being John Bedingfield of Suffolk. Johns grand-daughter Elizabeth Bedingfield married Charles Jessop and it was their son John Jessop who emigrated to Australia in 1838.
