Ann Bygrave (1801 - 1842)
Ann Bygrave was born in 1801 in the Parish of Vere Jamaica, she was christened on 13 July 1801. She was the third child and the eldest known daughter of Thomas Bygrave Esq and Hannah Sill.
Very little is know of Ann prior to the birth of her first child
Ann married Rev John McCammon Andrew Trew, Rector of Vere and later St Thomas in the East some time in 1817 or 1818. John born in 1792 in Derrycughan, Armagh, Ireland to Andrew Trew and <unknown>. His father was an officer in the Markethill Yeomanry. He was appointed as the Rector of Vere parish from 16 May 1816 to 27 October 1817 and then Rector of the Parish of St Thomas in the East. Later going on to a number of senior roles in the Church of England. It is likely that the couple met when John baptised 48 slaves at the families plantation in September 1816.
Ann and John had 9 children (6 girls and 3 boys), born all throughout the empire:

- Mary Ann Hamilton Trew. Born 1827 Jamaica
- Hannah Jane Trew. Born 1830 Monaghan, Ireland. Married Rev William Grey. Died 1915
- Thomas Trew. Born 1833 Ireland.
- Anna Grace Maria Trew. Born 1836. Married Matthew Yeats.
- Janet McKean Trew. Born 1838. Married Alfred William Gabb. Died 1875
- Rev John Trew. Born 1840 Hook, Surrey, England. Married Alice Mary Molineux.
- Sophia Louisa Trew. Born 1841 Hook, Surrey England. Died 1842 Grenada
On her fathers death in 1819 Ann husband John was made Trustee and executor of her fathers will and was recorded as the trustee

In early 1829 the family returned to Ireland where on 4 August 1829 John was Ordained by the Archbishop of Canterbury, and took up a posting as the Perpetual Curate of Middletown, County Armagh in Ireland. The family stayed there until 1835.
There no information about the families movements for the next 3 years, but in 1838 John took up the role of Benefice, District Church of St Paul, Hook, Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey, England.
